Amazing walk alongside 2 waterfalls and stunning views. It is quite busy and of course uphill but take your time and enjoy. Even saw a bear sitting in a tree!

I hiked up to Vernal Fall and then Nevada Falls using the Mist Trail going up and the John Muir trail coming back. This makes for a 7 mile loop trail. I recommend doing it this way and not the other way around. You can,...More

We did the John Muir trail at Happy isles which was about 6 miles with a 2000 feet elevation change. Was an amazing walk where you see the falls from lots of different views and the top and bottom. The best advice I can give...More

This is the most hiked trail in the park. You start at Haps Isles Nature Center. You hike up the Vernal falls. There is a bridge before the falls that goes over the river. Then there is the last clear drinking water just past the...More

First wear appropriate footwear as in a hiking shoe or boot. The Park spends far to much time helping people who are not prepared than the should. Views are wonderful. Sit up top and have lunch and enjoy the views.

We passed Vernal Falls on the way. It was August, but both has dramatic flow so the falls were spectacular. We hiked to the base of Nevada and then returned by the Muir Trail. It took this pair of 63-year olds 6 hours to do...More

Most people can get to Vernal falls, especially the footbridge just below. But to continue on to the top of Nevada falls is a different story. It's 3x more strenuous with stretches of very steep climbs but accessible by anyone in reasonable shape. Most people...More

Advised to go early which we did, driving in at 7am, parking easy and caught shuttle bus to start of trail. Was fairly quiet and at times you felt like the only people for miles. My word it's hard going up but found it worse...More

You'll be hoofing it! Take it easy and bring some water. Make sure you have good hiking shoes that fit, especially for downhill.
