This spot is spectacular. The trail is 2 miles round trip, flat, and easy unless it is covered in snow as it is right now (May 2017). Once the snow melts off you can access it easily. Just keep kids and pets close to you...More

This was a great pull-off with excellent views of the valley. It was also a break from the crazy winding road to the top of Glacier Point Road.

This is a great day hike with fantastic 360 degree views. You will lose most of the crowds on this one. It looks harder than it is, so don't let this one intimidate you. The views are worth it from the top.

Take this relatively short trail for some of the best views in all of Yosemite. If you want to really feel the scale of the view, go over to the metal guardrail for great photos and a hair-raising look down into the valley!

We had a great short hike (2.2 mile round trip) to Taft Point last November. The scenery was AMAZING (even better than the views from Glacier Point). From here you can see all three parts of Yosemite Falls (Upper Falls, Middle Falls, and Lower Falls),...More

I hiked from Glacier point at sunrise around to sentinel dome and Taft point. What an amazing hike with great views at every turn. Make the extra effort and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. There are no guard rails and dangerous drop offs...More

I've seen this hike advertised as one that is not to be missed...unless you don't like heights! You are so high up here, you are actually looking down on El Capitan across the valley. The hike is pretty easy both ways. The fissures are here...More

We got an early morning start up the windy road from the valley. The walk out to the point was beautiful...green, shady, mossy trees, large boulders. When we arrived at the point there were some "youngsters" over the guardrails...thankfully no one fell.

this hike worked out great for me. 1 parking place, and 2 very do-able hike options. Chose Sentinel dome first, loved it. Went to Taft next, loved it too! It was relatively easy for Yosemite, and since I did it on my first day, was...More

Except for the last 5 to 10 fairly steep feet to the rail at the lookout, hike this is a fairly easy hike with great views, depending on where you drop in.

Is there a parking lot for this trail?

Response from Helen G | Reviewed this property |
Yes there is a small parking lot with about 20-30 (?) spaces on the side of the road. Parking lot fills up early. There is also a pit bathroom near the parking area. Parking is for trails for both Taft point and Sentential... More
