Still covered in snow in March of 17 - this wasn't available to the public. Unfortunate. It seems to be used as a HQ for the Sierra Club - hope they don't all drive here for meetings (seems counter to their mission). It serves as a memorial to one of their early directors.

I do not understand the TripAdvisor prohibition about not having a "persona' relationship with anyone involved with this non profit education center. Full Disclosure: I have known the curator there for many years, and I volunteer with the Sierra Club and know many of the volunteers who work there without any pay during the summer. Even though it looks a lot like Professor Rubeus Hagrid's house from Harry Potter, you won't find any half-giant wizards here. Also, don't expect to find any lodging accommodations for your family either. We have walked to LeConte Memorial Lodge a number of times from Camp Curry area of Yosemite. The tudor style lodge has rough hewn roof and granite walls.
