People, never forget what happened to Kandanos. We shall not forget. We will never forgive. Kandanos still stands and one day the people will take revenge.

Small but very moving plaques (replicas of the original) remembering the massacre and destruction of the entire town by Germans on 3 June 1941 in reprisal for the death of 25 of their soldiers.

This village was burned by the Nazis as retribution for 25 paratroopers being killed by Partisans in 1941. It is now a thriving small town.
