The Bastion or Citadel is overlooking this picturesque little harbour filled with boats, teh roads lines with old houses. I thought I am on a movie set. This is such a beautiful place. Just stunning !!

A pleasant place to wander for the views, and a few spooky passages and chambers to give you an idea of what it was like to be a defender of the citadel. Reasonably-priced admission.

The fort itself does not offer much, but the views of the town are amazing. And with the combined ticket for the monuments, it si really cheap.

well worth the entrance fee just to escape the tourists. We were alone at lunchtime and had very many photo opportunities of the coast town and port.

The 'Bastion de l'Etendard' may as well be the signature look of Bonifacio, if there would not be of the cliff's look. You cannot stop thinking what it was once in those days when they had to defend the city. It's best to walk up there, do not take the car! Bonus; At night, some lighting with changing colours make... Cheap to get in - 2.5euro for adults (or 3.5e for a combined ticket with the steps Roy d'aragorn) - but you soon see why. We thought this would be a decent length wall walk with great views and some historic insights, but none of the latter that we noticed and a very short visit - maybe 10 minutes worth... More

The true site to see in this town is the town and landscape itself, certainly not this bastion of the old citadel. While it only costs 2.50€ to vidit, the views are as good elsewhere in town and the "monument" certainly doesn't merit a visit. Skip!
