Place is magnificent, black sand beach, high waves, gentle hikes (we followed yellow and a piece of the blue one), nice hosts, good food and drinks.
The thing that bothered us was the maintenance of the place: viking village is falling apart, walking paths are not well indicated, we had the feeling of destroying the nature and had no clue where to go. Maybe it will improve with high season (and it didn't prevent us from enjoying the place, we just hope they'll use the entrance price to do maintenance).

They charge 900 per person to see nothing special. Some of the less beautiful areas in Iceland. There is a farm next door to the cafe with a crazy lady who screams at all the tourists. She yells they are stupid and other things. A very aggressive woman who may or may not be affiliated with the cafe. Please don’t waste your time there.

I was with my friend and we asked for 2 tickets to go inside and we were charged 2700isk when the price is 900isk per person. At first we thought that the price went up due to inflation but when we got to meet our friend outside who already had bought a ticket 5 minutes ago she said she only paid 900isk. We asked the lady for our money back and she had no explanation to what ocurred and just gave us cash back. Before that, we were many times in Stokksnes because we are workers for hospitality in the area and we recomend very much this place to our guests. However after this atempt of scam and the unfriendliness experienced by the staff we regret that we will no longer recomend this place to anyone as long as they keep this weird policy of charging money to walk on their land, which is not even marked... We are not offered an explanation of what to do inside or anything. Before that there was a lady asking if she can take some pictures to horses which she was denied because 'lamdowners dont like people around horses'. It is a very intimidating person in your cafe selling your tickets. I have not experienced this kind of rudeness anywhere in Iceland. I am very sorry that Stokksnes had become this greedy.

Great beach and views of the mountains. We spent about an hour walking and taking in the beautiful scenery, spotted seals and a whale, got slightly harrassed by the seagulls and had a nice drink at the viking cafe. Worth the visit if it's sunny!

Really Bad experience for us there.
You have to pay 900 ISK, they said this is to protect the nature but they don't use the money that way...
We wanted to make the 11 km ride... It was awful !! We almost got lost : there are no signs to show the way, you have to guess where you have to go and it was dangerous !
They should be ashamed...

I’ve seen a few reviews complaining about the cost of visiting this area, but personally I have no problem with a land owner charging a small fee to access this stunning location. The gravel road to get there is a little bumpy, but no too bad, and we thought the scenery was magical. If you don’t mind paying the small fee, you certainly won’t be disappointed with the views! Although, as others have said there is also plenty of free scenery to see.

I have been to Stokksness a couple times. Last time in May 2021. Previously I only had to pay to take the car down the road to get quicker to the beach. But now EVERYBODY needs to pay even when walking.
Payment was (and probably still is) peculiar. The ticketmachine outside never worked and the reception / cafe is not open 24/7 to pay for your ticket.

I think it is reasonable to pay for parking at the cafe and/or driving to the beach. But as far as I know you can hike / walk anywhere in Iceland WITHOUT paying. But apparently the landowner thinks otherwise and considers visitors as cash-cows.

This is one of a few spots that if the weather is anywhere halfway decent—go! On the other hand if it is raining, heavy clouds or foggy, give it a pass. This stop is 100% about the view across the lake. Nothing else here (worth the entry fee) doing.

View was stunning. Its a paid private property but if its worth it or not is bit questionable as you can get similar views in iceland elsewhere but still everything is unique in its own way. If money(if I remember roughly 10 euro) is not a big concern then i would recommend visiting.

This is a private beach with a dirt road to drive in. My 2WD made it just fine. You stop at the Viking Cafe and pay your per person entrance fees (900 ISK in Sept 2021). There is an old movie set here from a Viking show, which is really cool to check out. You can go inside some of the structures, which makes for fun pictures. The beach is absolutely stunning! You get Vestrahorn as the back drop and beautiful fine grained black sand. the way the water sits on the sand here, you'll probably end up with some photos that appear you are walking on water. It's really beautiful, not as busy as some of the other black sand beaches you can visit. The mountain reflection in the water is stunning as well. It's not a long drive from route 1, only a few minutes down a dirt road. I definitely recommend stopping if you're driving through.
