This is a great example of being able to touch and feel the artefacts... however, it was disappointing that not all the activities were manned and there were no outside activities, despite it being a sunny day.... I feel that the cost should be reduced...More

This is the best example of a recreated Viking long house. The interior was divided into four sections and I was able to participate in weaving, spindle spinning, grinding corn, and being thoroughly entertained by the storyteller.

Awesome Viking lady who told authentic Viking stories (in English). Great movie and exhibits with recorded descriptions of archaeological finds. Hands-on exhibits in reconstructed long house, including chain mail, swords, costumes, games, etc., from Viking era. Well worth the time!

Fabulous reconstruction of a Viking longhouse. Staff on hand to inform details of everyday life and activities. Everything can be tried out and used. Great fun.

Here's the letter I've just sent to Viking Museum: This kind of self-service that is provided during winter to the visitors of the Viking Museu is not working. I was informed that, despite the museum closed at 3 pm, the visitors were free to circulate...More

This was a very authentic visit, filled with fun and information. I was able to visit here at night for a Viking Feast, as an excursion from my Hurtigruten voyage. It was a half-hour bus ride to the longhouse, which is an exact replica of...More

The exhibition hall is fantastic with online audio guide - very informative. The viking long house displays the viking lifestyle. It's good to know the setting - three sections (the chief's house, the dining hall and the storage room). The walk to the boat house...More

Hi, I am visiting Lofoten with my wife and 10 year old son and we would like to do the Viking Feast. Will this be possible on April 8th 2017? Also, can we see the rest of the museum at the same time, or do we need to see that during the day? Thanks!
