Mixed feelings about the Ferry

We tried to purchase tickets Culebra Island Ferry before our trip unfortunately we couldn't, there was a site however they charged a $30.00 fee. We decided to wing it, we arrived @ 8 & didn't think we would make it, we did, the line was long & slow moving. After 40 minutes we got our tickets. Ferry was running late... More

I enjoyed going to and from Palomino Island on this trimaran. The ride is smooth and quick. The only thing is that I wish the ferry stated later (until 8 or 9 pm) but the last ferry ends early. I think 3 ish.

Our trip in Puerto Rico relied heavily on using the Ferry. We arrived to Fajardo on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm. At that time we were able to walk right up to the Ferry window and purchase tickets for the 7pm Ferry on that day to Culebra, as well as a 6am return ticket for 6am the following Tuesday, then... After finding out that the line to buy the tickets for this ferry is usually long, we stood up in the line from 5:45am. We got the tickets around 7:15am. In this day and age I found the lack of online reservation very disappointing. Then we had to wait for the the ferry to be ready till 9:45am. Overall the... More

Go early. Try to be in line by 7 or 730. We got our tickets early and went back to get in line like 30 minutes later. While were early, by the time we got on the Ferry to Culebra, we too far back to get on top. Residents have first come to the tickets so keep that in mind.... More

We had 2 nauseating trips on this ferry. Not the ferries fault, but ugh... fly if you can. Dozens of vomit bags were handed out the day that we went. It took two hours to get back to Fajardo in high seas.

It's honestly not that bad but we did go somewhat during off season (February) and on a Wednesday. After reading through tons of reviews on TripAdvisor I was slightly nervous. We ended up taking the ferry to Culebra with no real problems other than a long wait. Take notice if you're taking the ferry to Vieques, you're not going to... More

I too read all of the reviews. The staffers were not unfriendly but I can see how people may take their attitudes as being indifferent. We arrived at 7:15 for a 9:00 am ferry on a Thursday. Had no problem getting in line. Waited less than 5 minutes before moving to ticket booth and then had our tickets. The poor... More

We went to TRY and get to vieques, sat on a boat for literally almost 4 hours before they announced it would not move and that we had the option to wait another hour or two for another boat. Although parking said $5, it was more than that when we checked out

We took the ferry as part of a Kayaking Puerto Rico tour on Culebra Island so we did not have to buy tickets but parking was difficult and after checking it out the day before, my husband recommended we get there by 7am in order to be assured of getting a parking spot. We met our tour guide at 8... More
