Welcome to Wanaka's wonderful world of weirdness! Puzzling World has been messing with people's heads since 1973. Bizarre buildings, rooms of illusions and our famous maze will baffle your brain and challenge your perceptions of reality. Even if you only pay a visit to New Zealand's most unusual public toilets, your world will never be the same again. Seeing is disbelieving!

For a NZ$ 20 they give you a combo ticket to Maze and Illusions. Illusions was nice. Maze is a great group / individual activity if you have lots of time and are staying in Wanaka, so you would have already spent your time on beautiful Lake and surroundings. But if you're passing by, i would suggest..just exclude from your... More

We went as 4 adults not knowing what to expect and found all of it great fun. The illusions side is amazing, especially the tilted house, we couldn't stop laughing! The maze is also fun but gets very hot in the sun and and you get very irritable when you can't solve it! There are get out points when you... More

The maze wa very challenging and exhausting on a hot day. However the other part, based on illusions was entertaining and fascinating. Well worth visiting.

For a drizzly day, come into the illusion rooms and have some brain fun. The sloped room was akin to going on a wild ride for me, so I slunk out of that one quickly. However, the mind bending illusions were entertaining and worthwhile. Learn about how your brain interprets images. Not too expensive for the brain food offered,

The kids (as well as the adults) enjoyed this immersion into the world of puzzles. Fun was had checking out the maze and weird perspective rooms. However, the real time-trap were the games and puzzles to play with. Didn't see husband, kids or uncle for a few hours thanks to these!

We had a rainy day exploring Puzzling World and we had a great time. Even outside in the maze, forgetting the rain in the excitement.

We stopped by here on a day out driving around the area and were very impressed. The puzzle centre didn't charge for just playing with puzzles but if you wanted to do the maze or see the illusion rooms it costs a reasonable entry fee. We particularly loved the toilets - you just have to go and see what I... More

My wife and I stopped here today and expected an hour or two stopover. We spent over 3 hours because it was sooooo cool. The maze is awesome and is engaging for adults. And the illusion exhibits were also great with the crooked room being the highlight. Highly recommended!

Good place for to take the kids, young and old. The reception/cafe has table full of puzzles free to use. The puzzling world exhibits are pay to enter but fascinating as was the maze, though very hard to manage (plenty of "cheat" doors if you've had enough.

This is a brilliant place to go with (or without) the kids! It's jam packed with lots of fun and interactive things to do and see. From a chair that seems to slide UP hill to a room to make your head spin...all the way through to the quirky toilets... There's surprises all over the place. It's easy to spend... More
