We got to see the inside and its history swelled within us. Our grandparents wed in this church and their children our parents were baptized there. Stones with our names lay here. The inside swelled with family history. We were in awe.

This is Norway's largest wooden church, and one of the largest wooden buildings in the country. Construction work started after the city fire in 1810, and the church was opened for service in 1821. There is a nice churchyard surrounding the building.
