A small museum, but the exhibits are interesting. Entry is free, with donations optional. Still, be sure to bring a 50p piece to try out the Victorian "jukebox"

Excellent little local museum with fascinating displays on the railways of the area, virtually all now sadly closed, smuggling, geology, Sir Walter Raleigh, and much more. What is even better, is that admission is free.

Many thanks, Jonathan M. Good to hear from you. Yes, admission is free so our visitor numbers are fairly healthy, but we do rely heavily on donations. The building is expensive to maintain.

This museum is very quaint, and although only situated on two levels, offers a really good insight into local history. Admission is free, donations are optional.

This is not only a museum but a living history of Budleigh and surrounding area. I reconized a model that my father made before the war. The staff well informed and interesting. I believe they change the displays frequently so will go again.

While I was attending a Croquet course my wife visited the Fairlynch Musium and fond it very interesting and informative, depicting the local history of the area. There was also a centenary tribute to 'Budleigh Salterton's adopted son' Reg Varney.
