Wasn't sure what to expect from this visit but was pleasantly surprised. It is like stepping back in time as all the "cast" stayed in character the whole time. The knowledge and history passed on was very good. The armourer was very good and obviously...More

Lovely place to visit wonderful craftsmen & women all of whom are happy to talk to visitors about their crafts. All the talks were very interesting and certainly kept my grandchildren interested. Will certainly visit again

We've been along several times with Grandchildren. Always good fun and plenty to maintain interest for a few hours. Whoever we've taken along has never expressed dissapointment. The 'Villagers' are excellant always very knowledable of the crafts they demonstrate.

Like stepping back in time! Brilliant little hidden gem, pure escapism! Really, really interesting especially when you see everyone dressed up and telling you lots of tales of the past

In an obscure part of Gosport lies this historic reconstruction of 17th century village life. Entirely self supporting and volunteering run this is a must visit as the villagers play the role of their time. Engage in conversation with villagers about their life and duties...More

Visited with my parents and husband (why no category for grown-up family groups, Trip Advisor?) and we had a fantastic morning. It's a small site but very authentic with a variety of different dwellings. Every re-enactor was convincing, knowledgeable and dedicated. We spoke to a...More
