This is a great Waitomo cave experience. Access is pretty easy. You get to see the glowworms up very close, including their feeding strands. Have recommended this tour to friends already.

Loved this tour. Caves are absolutely amazing and well worth the visit. Cant wait to go again in the future. Tour guide was informative and had a sense of humour too. Found him very knowledgeable and answered questions with ease. Highly recommend you visit.

Thanks for the review. You have described a 3/5 tour very well so thanks for the extra point. Maybe if you had pointed the amazing glowworms and the opportunity to photograph them up close, similar to the delicate crystal formations, this could have been a...More

This was probably my favourite cave out of the three available with this company. there is definitely something magical and spiritual about this cave. From the moment you walk into the cave, you can feel it is a very special place. The cave is large...More

This was a fantastic experience. Seeing the worms was amazing, but I loved everything about exploring this underground world. It was easily one of the most interesting caves I have ever experienced. I also can't say enough good things about our guides. They were friendly...More

Thanks for the review. Yes, NZ's longest underground walk is also the most accessible (maybe not for scooters). Standard wheelchairs (max 65cm width) will fit easily enough. Great to hear our staff are performing well! Logan

Thanks Andrew, and good note for guide proximity. The guides will address the whole group in places where you can all hear. Often the guides will make conversation with those nearby at other times, so hopefully you didn't miss anything vital! Logan

Thank you Bec, great review and advice! Ruakuri is definitely a long tour, but for those not sure about the distance, be reassured that it is fully wheelchair accessible i.e. no stairs! There is also a handrail the whole way and plenty of resting areas,...More

The entrance is quite spectacular. The formations are interesting although I would say I have seen far more stunning examples of show caves in Tasmania Australia. Again, our guide was informative and helpful at all stages. It is a much longer underground experience, being underground...More

Thanks for the review. You are probably right in that there are more stunning cave formations in other caves around the world, and in Waitomo itself, but the best ones are not on commercial tours! In saying that, you (or anyone else) didn't come to...More

We took this cave tour first before the glowworm cave which was a good choice. It's about a 1.5 hour easy return walk. It's very informative about the cave formations and about the glowworms. You are also able to take photos here. I recommend it...More
