The kiwi's are kept in a dark enclosure, but it was nice to see them as well as other birds. There are signs telling you what kind of birds they are, which is good. Definitely take a look when you come to NZ.

Opportunity to see live, active kiwis in a nocturnal environment. There are also enclosures for viewing ducks and waterfowl plus aviaries containing many species of native birds. Not necessarily a must see, but certainly worth the stop if you are anywhere nearby.

We spent a couple of hours walking around and we had a great time. Definitely more than Kiwi's here, lots of native birds and some tuatara's (reptiles). We managed to see one of the kiwi's, the other 2 were either in their burrow or hiding...More

This is more than just visiting the Kiwi House for their feeding. There are many birds located here, an enclosed aviary. Some reptiles, fish. Nice nature area.

This was probably the best thing i saw in New Zealand. We happened to show up right before the 3pm daily kiwi worm feeding and lecture. I just fell in love with the feisty little critter that i now believe is my spirit animal. I...More

Other then that we really wanted to see a kiwi bird, this place does not offer much. It's close to other attractions like the glow worm caves, so a combined visit will be fine. We spend about an hour or so here. The kiwi birds...More

Had a lovely viewing of a Kiwi foraging in it's cage (but must be a little disappointing if you trun up and the Kiwi is hiding away somewhere). But the bird park is nice enough. Well worth a visit.
