I went on a cool crisp October morning before the sun broke. I had the mountain all to myself, I recommend if you do this make sure you have a good headlamp. Trail is well beaten and if you are brave enough you can venture...More

Amazing hike and views. Trails were well defined and easy to navigate. Highly recommend visiting Whiteside Mountain. The resort Old Edwards Inn had a guided excursion to the trail and it was so nice having a tour guide to tell us about the history of...More

Took my wife and I maybe 1.5 hours to hike? It's a big loop, so we decided to hike the other direction once we finished just to get a little more exercise. Pretty reasonable hike for all ages. Took a sandwich for lunch and found...More

Great hike, stay to the left to start..it's an easier upward hike that way. Good vista views and lots of different scenery. Keep children under close watch.

The trail leading up to the top is easy, a quick hike, and well maintained, but the top part is not recommended for those afraid of heights. The views sure are pretty though.

Easy and accessible hiking trails, lots of places to sit down and have a hiker's lunch or snack. Beautiful vistas.

There is a nice, 2 mile trail up to the top accross and down, so it does require some effort going up. Once up, the view is great. The path then goes for perhaps a half a mile along the cliffs. Cable fences are there...More

The best spots near Whiteside are both approximately 3-4 miles west of Highlands off Highway 64 west, to wit: Cliffside Recreation Area and Van Hook Glade. Both have nice campsites with views of Cliffside Lake.
