There's not much in here. I don't believe that there isn't more history about the area. Probably strategically left out the slavery parts of the story, like most of the other South African town museums... Leave out those parts so that it doesn't look bad or something. Maybe it's just me, but I believe that all aspects of the history... More

We thoroughly enjoyed looking at the Montagu museum, It smelled fresh of herbs - I was surprised to see that natural herbal medicines and remedies are produced and sold in Montagu. Barry was fascinated with the moustache cup, enabling the men of old with a Tash to drink tea or coffee ! Wonderful to see the old church as it... More

I was so surprise to see this beautiful collection of artwork of an old time South African hero displayed here! Interesting collection of herbs, lotions and information on how to use different herbs. Interesting display on the riverfloods. Just missed the history of the old Town Crier. I suppose they're busy upgrading some of the historical info displayes.

Very interesting! I found the photo exhibition of the flood damage from previous years of particular interest.

Location excellent in historical church.Interesting Khoi herbal exposition and for sale. Attendants unfriendly , not interested and not knowledgeable. The herbal aspect makes it unusual and worth a visit ( also available at Joubert House )

Mission Church: Good collection of historical and informative items in the church, but it is not exhibited in the best layout and needs some design and layout upgrades. It has a lot of potential and the information regarding herbal medicine and the town's history is also interesting. The lady at the Joubert House gave a lot more information in a... More

The archon the museum was interesting and there were some great pieces. It wasn't a bad museum for this little town. Well curated but it could be freshened up.
