The Fattoria dei Barbi is one of the most famous and historic wine producers in Italy. Since the end of the 1700s, the Fattoria dei Barbi is the property of the Cinelli Colombini family, who have owned land in Montalcino since 1352. Since 1892 it has produced Brunello and it opened its cellars to visitors in 1960. More than three million wine lovers have visited it to date and have been able to see in person the care and attention we put in every phase of production of our Brunello di Montalcino. Besides visiting the cellars, with their countless rooms of oak barrels and the bottle cellar holding wines from 1870to our own day, visitors can taste, free of charge, the wines made by the Fattoria.

The wine offered at the tasting was good, but not nearly the best Brunello I have tasted. The tour was not enlightening. The tour leader gave mostly generic information that I already knew about Brunellos. She seem to go through the motions, perhaps she has...More

very friendly tour guide. She pointed out the differences between barbi and the other vineyards and the differences in winemaking. Wines for purchase are reasonable and the 2006 brunello was outstanding.

These people had very good Brunello and loved their olive oil. Very friendly folks too. No reservation was required when we arrived. I recommend a visit here. They also have a restaurant, although we did not eat here.
