Not bad but not really worth the price of the entrance fee. It's a nice old house but has a very tenuous relationship to Charles Dickens.I am a great fan of Dickens but I didn't feel any sense of the great man here

If you like Dickens' books it is really interesting. You can almost feel Charles Dickens' presence! Very interesting pictures and historic items.

Quaint little house packed with things to see - but don't be disappointed thinking Dickens lived here - he never did. However it has many things connected with him including original letters and first edition books and magazines which the charming curator will tell you about. Also has several room tableaux on a Victorian theme which are delightful. Go visit

What a shame this place is let down by the grumpy old man in charge as the place itself is interesting although a bit stuck in the past with many of the displays (possibly that is part of the charm) quite dated I think he actually lives there - if so should be more attentive and caring

This museum is worth a visit it was charming and interesting. The curator is an elderly gent who was very keen to share his vast knowledge of Dickens. The museum is well located by the sea just by the information booth. Some interesting pieces to be see and read about. The books in the shop are a bargain at £1.99.... More

We found the Dickens House Museum a very interesting way of spending an hour or so in Broadstairs, with lots of interesting details about Dickens and his stories. It was enhanced by an introduction by the very knowledgeable gentleman collecting the entry fee.

Greeted by a very enthusiastic curator who gave us a potted history before looking around. Well presented for the space available and we spent an interesting hour there. Access to the upstairs is by a staircase only and the museum is only open in the afternoons, worth checking the website before a visit. There is a small gift shop which... More

The museum was charming and interesting if you already have a love of Dickens' work. We were particularly impressed by the friendly welcome we received and how keen he was to share his extensive knowledge about the property and it's links with Charles Dickens.

This is an interesting place but it could be improved by proving more visual information to read. The displays are just numbered and there is no explanation about the items are used for. More anecdotes and personalization would've made it more interesting. Also, while the curator was interesting, he was rather rude to some in front of us when taking... More
