Soulless
Bit of a vertical drinking establishment really! The beer is average and the place lacks atmosphere. The one saving grace, sitting outside rewards the drinker with a wonderful view of Rochester castle and the Cathedral.

What an awesome time

Drove past and thought I’d get a beer! What a great time I had and the bar lady Claudia was so friendly! What a difference it makes to have a friendly, fun person serving you behind the bar.

You won't leave hungry

Have had a few days work free so enjoyed the arrows garden and had lunch every day, each meal was great the portions totally justified the price as were huge and beautifully cooked. Service was friendly and prompt so really can't find a single fault other than to say great food, great staff and you get to look at the beautiful castle whilst eating too.

Dirty glasses
Aug 2017 • Couples
Went for an “alfresco” drink one summer early evening. The lipstick on the glass of gin my wife was given makes me question the hygiene here. On returning the drink, the bar maid was surly to the point of rudeness. I suspect she thought the lipstick was my wife’s, but we did point out none was being worn. I do not go there now.

Lovely atmosphere, fantastic food. Well behaved dogs allowed.

Great pub, food is excellent. Lots of it at great prices, really recommend. Carvery on Sunday. Only one side of pub where dogs allowed, that’s understandable. Just glad we can take Millie with us.

Dreadful band rehashing old reggae songs . Sound so loud could barely understand words. Unfriendly place toilets disgusting. Not good for dancing just good for jogging on the spot

Sticky floor
May 2017 • Friends
The place is quite dirty inside and doesn't have a particularly good range of beers (the ales didn't taste very well-kept). Sitting in the large beer garden outside during the day was pleasant but there are so many nicer pubs nearby.

Quiet drink at the end of the day with the kids
Jul 2016 • Family
Visited the Arrow for its convenient location and outlook from beer garden. My larger was fair - standard stuff, but my wife's glass still had the previous drinkers lipstick on it. Had at best an ambivalent response from the bar maid who tipped the drink into another glass with no apology. Sorry and a new drink would not break the bank particularly during a quiet period.
