While in Chapada Diamantina we've visited a few waterfalls. This was our first one, probably due to the easy access. We went for a swim on its cold waters, which was very welcome on a hot day. The water is black due to sediments of the roots of plants of the region (as it was explained to us). The is... More

Wonderful hike on good trail with 2km of climbing and 4km of traversing across the top of the Mesa to the top of the falls and then return by same trail.

A very convenient short day tour next to Lencois. Agencies usually combine it with other afternoon tours. It's a pleasant 20-25 minutes walk towards the waterfall, we did it with my 2yo daughter on my back. You should see how we were all amazed when swimming in the pool that was full of minerals. Pleasant to see but also to... More

We stopped here on our way to Pai Inacio and it was very worth it. The water is brown from the organic material dissolved in the water and you should not jump in the pool although it is very deep. Watch out for the monkeys that are not really afraid of you and come pretty close.

We were there with 4 boys (ages 9, 11, 11 and 14). They had a great time going behind the waterfall and swimming in the "pool" formed by it. Not as amazing as some of the other ones we went there, but also very nice.

A great walk along the river. The kids (teenagers) loved it. At the beginning and at the end you have a great pool. At the end it is a little bit steep, but it is worth it !

Went for a swim after a full day of hiking/sightseeing Chapada Diamantina. Perfect end to the day, nice swimming hole right near the waterfall. Extremely deep, black looking water, so not recommended for people that get scared not seeing the bottom. Worth the hike (about 30 min from parking spot) to get there.

This waterfall is very beautiful and a nice location to swim and just chill. Plenty of space to sit down under the shade and rest after the hike. The hike is fairly easy and is on itself very nice. We took a car from the tour company we hired. They drove us to the entrance of the property and there... More
