I was a guest for 3 nights at the end of my Namibia tour & absolutely LOVED it. The garden feels like a real life Narnia & to be able to interact so closely with so many species of animals was wonderful. My lodge accommodation was beautifully laid out, roomy, well equipped with lots of personal touches such as a... More

Being a volunteer at this animal sanctuary was one of the best things that I have ever done. While I was a bit older than the majority of the volunteers, we all became a group. We were all there for the animals. Working with injured or orphaned animals and knowing that those that can be released back into the wild... More

Had Harnas been more organised, less socially focused and made more efficient use of volunteers - my rating would have been AMAZING. I volunteered at Harnas for 3 weeks in sept/oct of this year. I tried very hard not to have any expectations, so as not to set myself up for disappointment. The animal interactions I had at Harnas were... More

A fabulous place to spend a day or longer... Kid friendly, animal interaction with the animals. Stroking cheetah up close and hearing about how the staff care for and rehabilitate animals was great. A bit of a journey on the gravel road so leave enough time to get there and back. Absolutely enjoyed every minute of this place and the... More

I loved Harnas! The best plave Ive ever been to. They take in orphan and injured animals and care for them. They really love all the animals and do everything for them.

I was a volunteer at Harnas Wildlife Foundation. The time I spend at Harnas is the best of my life. Everything at this place is magical. People going there, including my self often come form a world where the most important thing is what you look like, what job you have, how much money you earn... At Harnas the animals... More

I recently went to Harnas and thought it was great! I agree with Caitlin below - you definitely need to go for more than two weeks'. The first few days you learn all about food prep for your animals and that takes a huge chunk out of your trip as there are so many different activities you can do. Be... More

My partner and I went here after a recommendation from an ex safari guide yeeaars ago! I finally made it to Harnas and after 2 weeks there, every 2 seconds my brain returns to thinking about it and ways to return there. Firstly STAY LONGER THAN 2 WEEKS! It may sound like a lot on paper but with all the... More

I spent a night at Harnas during my trip to Namibia and Botswana this summer. It was my last night in the country, and I booked this place thinking that here I could see those animals I probably wouldn't see free; for example, leopards. That much I can say I did, as I saw all those beautiful wild cats all... More

I volunteered at Harnas, Namibia, for 6 weeks in February and March 2012 and it was some of the best weeks of my life! You get to interact with a wide specter of animals, from leopards to meerkats and dogs and you get to do all kinds of activities. I fell in love with the place the moment I got... More
