It was built by Rana Natwarsinhji, who was the last Maharaja of the Princely State of Porbandar, in the early years of the 20th century, with clear European influences. The palace is now used by the successors of the Maharaja's family who reside in London.

Huzoor Palace was built by the Maharaja of Porbander before Independence. The palace is presently not open to the public. However from what one can see from outside it is a beautiful old colonial style building and gives some good backdrops for photographs especially when the setting sun rays fall on the building.

This is stilla private property so you can just view the outer structure of the palace and its grounds. Especially the view from the Chowpaty beach side is beautiful. And during sunset with the dusk light falling on the mahal , you can get some very good photos. Apart from that nothing much you can do here

Once the seat of Maharajah of Porbandar Natwar Singh, lovingly known as Bapu, the palace is now uninhibited and stands as a ruin. The Palace is situated on the sea beach and is an architectural building having western influence. General public is not allowed to enter any more and one can view from outside.
