The museum is great to visit - not too much in English, but great views from the Citadel, and a modern airy museum

If you decide to visite Corte, you have to see the Citadelle. But don't wait a big place or something extraordinary. I'd classificated it as normal.

When you look at pictures of the Citadel you cant fail to be impressed by its location on top of a precipice. Its position was very strategic. However what you realise when you get there is that its essentially a veiw point. You can only...More

There is a nice museum inside the building, a walk on the walls of the fortress offers beautiful views on the scenery that surrounds the city of Corte. Must be visited and ended with more or less romantic dinner in Corte :)

While there is not that much to see in Corte the Citadelle is worth the climb. It was great to get a sense of the center of Corsica which is so different from the coast.

Entrance to the citadel is through the museum. Once past its modern entrance you can walk round the ramparts and then up some steep steps to the Tower. Evocatively ramshackle and beautifully unimproved with terrific views over the town and mountains. Museum worth a quick...More

The citadel is all about defence. Having been occupied by many invaders over the centuries this high point at the centre of Corsica commands the routes to the north, south, east and west of the island. The climb to the top is moderate but some people...More

Hi, Daren, sorry, I'm reading your question only now. No, in my opinion, it is'nt enought to see spending one day. In two hours, you see everything. Good trip.
