On hols in hawes. Going to Ingleton for the day. Travelling down the road and stumbled upon it by chance. We stopped an took lots of photos. The area around it was so beautiful. I'll bet from the train going over it the views would be even more spectacular

Visited today with our collie dog Eddie. The weather was beautiful and scenery breath taking. Well maintained paths around the viaduct. Free roadside parking. Plenty of photo opportunities.

This is a spectacular example of Victorian engineering. On the day of our visit, the weather changed every two minutes. One minute we were bathed in sunlight, the next we were shrouded in clouds. The wind was gale force strength but it was well worth the ten minute walk from the road. If you are in the area, this is... More

I came to Ribblehead viaduct on a Monday afternoon, the trip down the winding roads was relaxing and the scenery was beautiful. Approaching Ribblehead was spectacular with plenty of parking nearby. There are lots of walks nearby if you want to explore further.

A perfect setting for watching and photographing railway engines. A decent amount of parking followed by a short walk to gain the best vantage point.

We used the sat nav to find this viaduct and it was a lovely sight when it appeared in the distance. There is plenty of roadside parking if you pass the viaduct heading to York. We walked right up to it on a path of rubble - not suitable for wheel chairs but you get a good view from the... More

Lovely place to visit with lots of surrounding foot paths to explore. Poplar location but still very quiet.

It's the most impressive structure on the Settle-Carlisle Railway located just over the border from Cumbria into North Yorkshire. We drove to this place last week and it is very close to the train station - just a short walk away from Ribblehead station. It's an impressive piece of engineering architecture. We were lucky enough to see the train passing... More

Get a pencil. Draw some hills. With a ruler draw a long line between the hills then draw 24 arches underneath and you'll have something like the Ribblehead Viaduct. Even better take a trip to Ingleton, and then take the road to Hawes and after about 5 miles you will come across this amazing piece of art, built by 6000... More
