We went on two easy walks through the forest. It is a beautiful, peaceful place with plenty of variety, such as streams, wetlands, grassy spaces, etc

Great place for a variety of leisurely, family friendly walks. Mostly flat with signposted routes through beautiful woodland.

We were amazed how well signposted the walks were and how beautiful they were. These are for all ages and are not difficult at all. Most of the time they are absolutely flat. This is must go when you visit Hanmer Springs. If you have an European background you will enjoy even better, as it feels like Europe. The best... More

After having lunch we went off for a walk in the forrest. There were lots of footpath tails to follow and although we only walked for half an hour it was very pleasant. Looked to be a great area for families with children.

The Hanmer Forest is amazing! There are bike, walk & horse trails everywhere. Great alternative to the overly commercialized Thermal Pools.

There are a number of well signposted walks in the forest surrounding Hanmer Springs with one of the best for families being the woodland walk. The different tree species are labelled and the path is easy to navigate. There is an absence of public toilet facilities once you get into the forest but there are plenty of public toilets in... Walk any of the trails to get away from it all. The forest is moist, the track well-maintained, and the sense of tranquility complete. We were there on a Monday after a busy weekend and met very few people on the trail. Even just a quick walk along Dog Stream is refreshing.

We've had a blast traipsing through here with our little family. There are great trails for walking or biking, and a stack of good geocaches to find along the way. We've been up and down the rows in all sorts of weather from glorious sunshine to gently falling snow. This is a spot you have to visit, it really has... More

Went for small hike halfway to waterfall track. This is nice intermediate track leading to a nice waterfall. Please note it takes around 3-4 hours return depending on your fitness. Also there are bees making homes in tree stumps and barks. You can be stung if you touch them by mistake. There is a steam that flows along the trail... More
