Went for small hike halfway to waterfall track. This is nice intermediate track leading to a nice waterfall. Please note it takes around 3-4 hours return depending on your fitness. Also there are bees making homes in tree stumps and barks. You can be stung if you touch them by mistake. There is a steam that flows along the trail... More

Beautiful with the Dog Stream meandering through. Shady and peaceful....always seem to find another part of track to follow.

Nothing necessarily spectacular to see but, just a lovely tramp through the forest in the morning. Lots of cycle tracks too

This morning we meandered along The Woodland Walk, followed by the Forest Walk (2km) and this was after following the Majuba Walk. There are good walking guides available. A number of these walks are quite flat and easily accessible from car parks. One gets a feeling of total solitude in the forest. There are signs denoting different types of trees.

There are some great routes for all levels of mountain biking for easy family routes to those that will challenge the more adventurous, Be careful though as some routes are combined so if you are hammering downhill watch ahead for walkers!!

We took a quiet stroll in the Hanmer Forest on Sunday morning, after a very scenic drive. It was very pleasant.

Leave your car by the scout hut on Jollies Pass road off to the right at the end of Hanmer main street. Some nice walks through the bush and open tracts of land.

Went for a morning walk through this forest, able to do over 5kms without repeating any area. The trees are magnificent, some planted in the 1920's - for us it was interesting to see what they looked like at maturity stage. Look forward to exploring another area on our next visit

We went for a MTB ride on the 6.5km Easy Rider loop track. Good easy grade with some slightly more challenging sections. Mostly single bike width, going through thick forest. Very pretty and picturesque. The forest has other MTB trails as well as walking tracks. Good family fun.
