Nice peaceful area

The surf may not be so exciting, but it's in a very attractive area and close to some popular restaurants. The beach is long enough to enjoy a good walk.

Lots of local people with children. The area is marked and the bottom of the sea prepared with less stones, so you can swim without water shoes, but very cold. It goes quick in deep water.

I enjoyed the wide, flat and clean beach. No problems with undertow or trash. Good for families, couples or tourists. There wasn't a great deal of amenities such as food stalls, etc. There are nearby businesses and restaurants but most are across the street.

Until last fall, the Yantai Winter Swimming club had it's shower & changing house located on the beach. I've been a dues paying member since 2002, the official laowai of the club I think. Word is that the facilities will be rebuilt before summer.
