Thep Phithak Temple (White Buddha) is wonderful and peaceful. I hiked up to the top to see the White Buddha) in 20 minutes. The mountain views were beautiful. The temple was well maintained and clean. There were peacocks in temple. Recommended.

If you need an exercise to lose the fat after all the Khao Yai good food , you can try climbing up the stairs to the big Buddha .
The staircase is well maintained and concrete , just need enough stamina to climb up
There are rest huts to sit and recover if needed , nice view at the top .
Most importantly , bring your water

This beautiful white Buddha temple statue is sitting uphill among the rain forest. Local Thais and tourists are attracted to see this unique white Buddha temple and paying their respects.

Kids had a good time feeding bread to the peacocks. They roam freely in the compound with the roosters and other birds.

A quiet peaceful temple for local prayers; The main temple is at the top of the mountain and needs more than 600 steps of climbing to reach the top of the main mountain temple.
The lower ground temple is full with peacock's bird; The birds are not in the center of temple. Its roaming all over the temple vicinity and nearby. There's also a lot of different kinds of chicken species roaming all over the places.
You can take photos quite close to the peacocks & very surreal.
Therefore, you need to walk around the temple vicinity to find them in high and low resting places all over.
The temple will close around 5.30PM;

Have you even see more than 30 peacocks with many flouting their beautiful feathers at each other. The sight is spectacular! Must see.

We visited on our way back to Bangkok after spending 3 days in Khao Yai. The white Buddha statue could be seen from Highway 2 on the way to Pak Chong. The road leading to the temple is slightly more than a km away from the highway. A large carpark is on the right where a toilet is also to be found. A short flight of steps leads to the temple. On the left a souvenir shop and the lady would be quick to inform visitors if the clothing is inappropriate, especially for ladies wearing short skirt and shorts. Nonetheless, she is quick to offer a sarong for loan at 20 baht. The temple has a open concept and the center piece is the large white Buddha statue 600+ steps above. Being seniors, we quickly decided that we will not walk up to the main statue. At the fore court you could see several peacocks wandering around. A quiet place with not much visitors when we were there at mid morning.

I came with high expectation but turned out a disappointment.
The place is a bit run down and not much to see in the temple.
We were not allowed to walk up to the Buddha statue, so we just wondered the surrounding of the temple.

Nice place to come pray and sweat. No entrance fee because it is a temple. One can make donation if one wishes to. I walked up the steps to get closer to the big Buddha. It was a good walk, sweated a lot. Enjoyed the walk. Managed to walk up and down within 40min, not bad for someone like me (not very fit).

After driving by this hillside Buddha many times we decided it was time to visit. The result was a very pleasant afternoon, a bit of exercise and a wonderful view of the valley. The large white statue on the top is beautiful from the bottom and even more impressive from the top.
To get there you have to be prepared for a bit is a climb, but nothing overwhelming if you take your time and enjoy the process. Here is how you get there. After a short walk up a beautiful broad stairway you arrive at a sign on the left that says you have 631 steps to reach your destination. The stairs on the left are for ascending and the ones on the right are for your decent. The steps are all comfortably wide and there is a solid steel railing the entire climb for your safety. Both up and back there are numerous comfortable rest areas to step off the stairs and have a seat.
Once to the top you have a serene view of the valley as well as the huge statue you came to see. I highly recommend if you are in the Pak Chong area with time that you make a visit here.

The right side of the stairway with a English quote board! Is anyone took photo of it? Possible to share me ? Coz all the way is in Thailand writing and only the one board over there with a meaningful English quote !

Hi. The sunflower field is located at Phattana Nikhom. It's on the way to Pak Chong route. Muak Lek is another district. Probably around an hour drive from Pak Chong. It's doable to drive yourself using Waze or Google Map. Have fun in. Khao Yai!

Dear Mr.Sharus 100
To reach Pak Chong (Nakorn Ratchasima City) where THEP PHITAK PUNNARAM TEMPLE is located, there are many methods such as by private car, by mini-van, by bus and by train. As you are the foreign tourist, and I don't know whether you will go alone or in a group. However, I would suggest you to hire a MINI-VAN (รถตู้ or road-too) and cost around 1800 Bht per day. This vehicle can sit around 9 persons or less. For other methods, you must keep on taking another vehicle. I am not sure whether the driver knows this temple. Even my Thai friends, haven't heard of the temple.
If you decide to choose the Mini-Van, you can tell the driver which places you want to visit. Most drivers will set a GPS equipment inside the vehicle. This small equipment has many datas, quite accurate.
THEP PHITAK PUNNARAM Temple is located at the innermost of SOI THANON TEKSABAN 28 (ซอยถนนเทศบาล 28). On the way back to the main road, MITTAPHAB ROAD (ถนนมิตรภาพ), there is the small road at your right hand, leading to KLANG DONG Art House and SUPATTRA WINERY. I hadn't visited both places yet.
Good luck,
Thep Phithak Punnaram, Pak Chong
