Floralia is a flower show on the grounds of the chateau. The gardens are overseen by a descendant of a dutch tulip growing family so there are many, many tulips as well as other bulbs plus arrangements in the greenhouse. It is smaller than the more famous Keukenhoff flower show in Holland or Floralien in Ghent but this is a... More

Can't get up the Netherlands? Don't fancy the crowds at Keukenhoff? Go to Floralia! Groot-Bijgarden is only open to the public during Floralia in April (usually through the first week in May) and it is worth every penny if you are into flowers and gardens and historical properties. Even on the busy day that I went the first time, it... More

We go every year! The castle grounds provide the beautiful backdrop for the spring flower gardens and greenhouse exhibit. There are also a few exhibits inside some of the buildings on the castle grounds. I would go even if it were raining (not too hard). They have a tent set up selling refreshments and offer some indoor and outdoor seating.... More

My wife and I were lucky enough to be in Brussels to visit this flower show which is only open for the spring season. More than 1 million bulbs of tulips, Hyacinths, daffodils and much more surround a beautiful castle with perfectly manicured gardens and walkways. There are so many varieties of flowers and the different colors are really spectacular.... More

Went there with 2 kids of 7 to see the flowers & just to visit the park. Absolutely beautiful. It was one of the last days of the exhibition, so many flowers were at the end of their lives but it didn't spoil the impression. Flowers are organised in different compositions, like geometrical figures, hearts etc. there's even a peacock... More

After having visited the major tulip gardens (Keukenhof) in Amsterdam three times over the past few years, it was such a delightful experience strolling around Florialia without literally thousands of people thronging everywhere. Only 12E entry or 10 for seniors makes it very reasonable compared to other events in other countries. The glasshouse held a superbly presented array of floral... More

Only open from the 6 April to 6 May the gardens are worth a visit if you are passing through the area and have an hour or two to spare - but hardly worth making a lengthy journey. The outdoor displays are well laid out and are quite impressive, whilst the indoor displays in the large greenhouse are quite majestic,... More

Wonderful flowers; we got there first week of April and had tulips, daffodils and hyacinths blooming together. Indoor flower exhibits; outdoors a lovely walk around acres of beautiful lawns with bulb flowers--even a peacock created out of flowers! It wasn't so large a venue that one was overwhelmed; it wasn't so small that one wondered why one bothered. The tower... More

Cycled there on a Sunday with friends (from central Brussels took us around 45min/1h) and it was a really great weekend programme. The flowers are very pretty, the castle is worth visiting and the surroundings make you feel on holiday immediately. Entrance is set at 12€ per person and you should keep in mind that there are not much choice... More

Was visiting some friends in Brussels. We had kids from two families ages 7-12. We went during mid-April. I am sure the weather has a big determinate on how beautiful the flowers are going to be. When we went it was beautiful. It was well attended on a Saturday. Steady stream of people. There was a castle like structure where... More
