We took the Mollie on our last visit to Rostock. What a blast - the historic Mollie Steam Train is a steam-powered narrow-gauge railway, operating between Bad Doberan, Heiligendamm and Kühlungsborn over a distance of about 9 miles with the total trip taking about 40 minutes. You can hop off at stops along the route to explore. We enjoyed getting... More

This small train steams its way between Kühlungsborn and Bad Doberan. Not a long ride, but a flashback to times that have long passed. You do not have to take the whole tour, there are train stations where you can hopp off, look around, and hopp on in opposite direction. Therefore, its for the whole span of age groups -... More

We took this ride during our cruise stopover in Warnemunde. (a daytrip to Berlin didn"t appeal!) I found it on the internet as part of my research. There was also information on how to buy tickets, as well as bus and train timetables to help with the planning. We bought our main tickets at the Warnemunde station which is right... More

Really enjoyed the train. We had arrived in Warnemunde on a cruise and got the bus to here. Only thing was they would only take euros. Perhaps this could be publicised more. We had to find a near by ATM and get the cash. The ride was excellent however

Fabulous shiny engine, atmospheric carriages. You can stand at the end in the open air and travel through fab countryside including an impressively long line of lime trees. The train goes right through the centre of town with shops and houses on both sides. Great fun. No air conditioning. We were there when it was VERY hot but it was... More

This was fun! Old steam locomotive chugging through town on an hourly basis, and even had a serving wagon :-)

We got the steam train at Bad Doberan to the seaside resort of kuhlungsborn Ost. This steam train goes through the streets of Bad Doberan, which is quite surreal. When we were there it ran every 30 mins. If you've come on a cruise, as we did, and docked at Wundemunde, the best thing to do is ask at the... More

We took the train to Heiligendamm. It went quick. We had bikes with luggage, but it was no problem to take them with us on the train. You pay for it, get helped to lift it into the high train and out again. Buy your tickets in advance. The train runs every hour, 11 times per day.

We were staying in Warnemünde, so it was not very easy to get to Bad Doberan by public transport (as the bus that we were told would take us there was not running). However, we got there by train and it was well worth it. The train runs for about half an hour through very attractive towns and countryside. We... More

We arrived at Warnemunde by cruise ship and following the directions of a previous review we visited Molli by ourselves. Turn left from the cruise port and go under the underpass at Werft train station and the bus stop is straight ahead. If u time it right the bus takes u directly to Molli station. We were early and had... More
