A hidden gem - top quality
Sep 2019
We were exploring the area around Porta San Niccolo in Florence when we stumbled across an amazing showroom in an old church building, filled with glorious linens made by the Busatti company. This is a treasure trove of glorious quality, colour and unique designs. We were made most welcome and spent an hour in the company of the charming owner (and even played the piano!) Well worth a visit and treat yourself to a quality gift or two.

Textile High Command
Jul 2018 • Friends
This glorious linen shop is in the most picturesque walled city of Anghiari. This is Italy. This is another era. This isn't a tourist kiosk with pre-printed stock images. This is a PROPER textile shop where you can get custom bedding, dining room tablecloths, tea towels, wedding-type trousseau things if those still exist, and other beautiful items I was too speechless to even take in. Artful, woven fabrics of such color and variety you actually kind of gulp. And the service! What a superior experience.

fabulous linen shop

world class linen shop - make space in your baggage for goodies to take home. Ask to see downstairs where the looms are - you may strike lucky.

Beautifully woven, historic luxury linens of Tuscany
Jun 2017 • Family
You will fall in love! With the fabrics, the people and the history. Their traditional process of weaving is a beautiful art. The Busatti family produces exquisite fabrics that embody the Tuscan essence of la dolce vita! The finest linens and classic sophisticated patterns, huge showroom, and warm, friendly, English speaking people goes beyond the ordinary shopping experience. They are happy to sell fabric by the meter or pre-made goods but the tablecloths and bedding customized to your specifications elevates Busatti to the next level of service. Make sure to bring your table measurements from home. The factory tour is an added treat in Anghiari. Nothing better than to visit the original location in the beautiful hilltop town of Anghiari, but if you cannot make it to this little slice of heaven, look around for the many Busatti shops found throughout Italy in Florence, Arezzo, Cortona, Montalcino and many other Tuscan towns as well as Rome and Bologna. Their spectacular fabrics are also sold around the world. They will ship internationally as well.

If you are like me and love fine linens and warm, friendly Italian welcomes you will want to spend extended time in the Anghiari shop and with the Busatti/Sassolinis (a long visit is not necessary, the people are helpful and knowledgeable even with custom orders and can get you in and out quickly). There are some wonderful restaurants and coffee shops in Anghiari that the rest of your party can enjoy while you spend time with the luxurious fabrics or after your shopping experience. La Nena up the hill is excellent and elegant, as well as our favorite Bar Pizzeria Baldaccio in the main piazza (where you can find a delicious gluten free crust and Aunt Carla's cakes). Also not to be missed outside of the city walls is the remarkable il Capello di Paglia. Go to Busatti for the linens, stay in Anghiari for the people and food and authentic Tuscan experience. #Busattilove

Family-owned enterprise in quaint Tuscan town
Aug 2017 • Couples
Window-shopped at Busatti's retail location in Sansepolcro and then drove to their HQ in nearby Anghiari. Tough to find parking in August in any Tuscan hilltop town and Anghiari is no exception, but by driving a bit higher on the hill we managed to park at the lot in front of the municipal theater and then it is quick walk down to Anghiari. The showroom is spread out over many rooms with very nice layouts and presentation. The clearance section is the last one at the very back, with deep discounts on the day we visited. The main reason for our visit was to visit the workshops themselves but unfortunately they were closed to visitors on that particular afternoon; will remember to call ahead next time.

So Worth The Trip!
Feb 2017 • Couples
We put Anghiari on our list of places to visit mostly because of Busatti fabrics, and we were so glad we did!

We were met by Maurita (?) who kindly led us through the basement work area where we were able to see several jacquard looms from the 19thC with original punch-cards used to create the woven patterns.

Of course we purchased some fabric, and I cannot WAIT to make it up into something special as a memory of our great visit!

Interesting and informative brief tour of the 100-year old looms provides a good context for choosing from high quality linens and textiles.

Not to be missed
Jul 2016 • Family
Whoever comes to Anghiari should include a visit Busatti, where several generations of the Busatti family have been making high quality fabrics since the 1800s, and still use the original looms to produce renaissance patterned fabrics, very beautiful. The shop is arranged well so the production can be well displayed, and it is a good place to get gifts to bring back home that are light and easy to pack and carry.
