I had the most fantastic time arriving as a novice I was treated like one of the team and by the end of the week long course I felt competent to use horsepower as valuable part of my job during woodland management. The food was superb and the staff made me feel very welcome and have returned several times now taking... I requested a half day trail riding session which normally means trails being followed at a reasonable pace including cantering. What I got was a pony trek round some fields just outside Kingussie - very boring and not what I was expecting, in fact a complete waste of money. When I complained at the end, I was told that the... We booked a 1.5 hour Pony Trek and thoroughly enjoyed it. Yolande (think that is how you spell it?) was very friendly and patient, and took us on a trek through the local wooded area which gave us wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. The ponies we had were very accommodating for beginners, and knew we were soft touches when... More

I too rode out on Sept 9th We all booked an 'experienced ride' this means you are comfortable in all 3 paces, not the time to 'learn to canter' If you desire to improve your riding, best book a lesson, rather than an experienced ride. In familiarising ourselves with the ponies, it was clear the rider was using the reins... More

Pretty stable. Very cautious but well cared for horses. Teacher was nice and helpful, but manager named lorraine is the reason people dont ride. I was on the horse for 5 mins and getting adjusted to his pace when she yelled out that i was hurting the horse by pulling on the reins. Too bad because the rest of the... More

My 2 and a half year old daughter seemed to have developed an interest in horses over the summer so, while we were on a family holiday in Newtonmore in August, we brought her to the Newtonmore Riding Centre. The Centre does 30 min led rides for £15.They have 2 Shetland ponies at the Centre - Arty and Pepsi -... More

Newtonmore Riding Centre had extremely helpful staff in finding the right type of ride for me and my partner, we both had limited or no experience and the staff helped us book and begin to feel comfortable on the horses. The ride itself was defiantly worth the money we paid, and we got to see a beautiful part of the... More
