I have wanted to visit for years as it is my own clan history, and it was excellent. Well displayed information boards, great portraits and artefacts, a beautiful building in a lovely town. And in lots if gardens there are wildcat statues painted in all kinds of colours, brilliant fun! I'd love to visit again. The curator was very helpful,... More

Although it's only the ground floor of a house you could spend hours in this free museum. Lots of interesting things to see and a lot of reading. I can see how a MacPherson may want to read every word but it's a bit much for a casual visitor. Thankfully and thoughtfully they provide a summary for each section which... More

Thank you very much for your kind words. It really means a lot to us to know that we are catering to all our visitor's needs. We are deceptively larger on the inside than outside, as we have made clever use of all space in the museum extension, and so it would be very easy to spend hours browsing. More

The clan Mac.Phearson is located in this glen so it is only natural for their museum to be nearby. It tells the history of the clan through their eyes throughout the ages. It is worthwhile to visit but only essential if you are related to the clan.

The museum is definitely a 'Must See' for Macphersons as it does have so much information. We have tried to make it interesting for all visitors whether members of the Clan or not, and hopefully we were successful in your eyes. Thank you for stopping in and for your review. More

We were really surprised at how much information was in this museum. It's much bigger than it appears outside. We spent 2 hours but you could spend more if you read everything. There is a lot of reading but they also offer summary sheets if you don't care to read everything. A lot of items from the Clan as well.... More

Our museum certainly is much bigger inside than it looks from the outside. We are very happy that you enjoyed your visit, and also that you found time to post such a nice review. Thank you. More

I am embarrassed to say that for the last 3 years we have driven back and forth past this little museum while holidaying in Laggan. For some reason we decided to stop today and go inside and I am so glad we did. It is a really comprehensive history of the Clan Macpherson and has many fantastic exhibits and includes... More

Just dropped in to see what it was all about, and was pleasantly surprised . This really gives an insight to how the clans are and have been. The thing that was a surprise was all the famous people who are part of the clan that you would not even think of. Lots of history and a very well set... More

Never expected this museum to have so much interesting things! We came looking for Jamie Macpherson's broken fiddle and learned a lot more, very impressed warm welcome from staff, well done to the volunteers who keep this place going.

Only had time for a fleeting visit but would like to return to read more of the exhibits. A very extensive history on the MacPherson clan.

I did enjoy my visit to this museum. We received a warm welcome and were shown an introductory video which was interesting. The history of the MacPherson Clan is explained in real detail, which is probably most interesting for clan members. Perhaps this museum would be normally found in a castle, but this clan dont have one. The problem is... More

Thanks for taking the time to share your insights, David. We do appreciate it. Did you know we are a small, independent museum, run and manned by volunteers and that we rely heavily on donations from our visitors and funds raised by our little gift shop. As we don't charge for entry and, unfortunately, receive no funding from the government... More

We were greeted warmly and made welcome. The museum is free to enter and is well presented, with an interesting display through the history of the MacPherson Clan, including an introductory video.
