The fresh, summery taste of the wild blueberry is like no other you have experienced. Here, at the Home of the Big Blueberry, you can find out how that great taste gets from the Earth to you. You know this wild berry’s ‘cultivated’ cousins, but your behind-the-scenes tour lets you in on the secrets of how the wild berries just grow on their own in this naturally acidic soil.Owners of this family-run business add to your tour with stories that show their passion for tending to their wild blueberry fields. You learn how the berries go from ‘blossom-to-box’, with live or virtual close-up looks at the blueberry plants themselves, the harvesting equipment and the picking processes. During the growing season you visit the cleaning and packing areas and watch workers sort berries on their way to market. The sweet smell of fresh-baked pie and jam waft toward your nose as your visit nears the Signature Taste Tour , of mouth-watering wild blueberry gourmet treats, including the savoury ‘Wild Blueberries with a Kick’ products that are exclusive to Granite Town Farms.

This is a great place to stop and pick up wild blueberries in season (August). But the real attraction are the innovative products they have created using wild blueberries. The Wild Blueberry Lime Salsa is my favourite. While the Wild Blueberry Rhubarb Spread is delicious

We had taken the ferry from Deer Island to L'Etete and were on our way back towards St Andrews when we made a quick stop here. Obviously, lots of blueberry products with the salsa and wine being very good. Free samples are always a plus!...More

You can see employees sorting blueberries. There is a gift shop and blueberry products to buy. Kids would get a kick out of this.

Wonderful people at this shop were very welcoming and quick to offer up samples of their blueberry jams, jellies, wines and other creative culinary treats. The staff were great and put no pressure on us. Worth checking out.
