If your in Cromwell this is worth a quick stop. The building of old Cromwell have been beautifully restored & placed along the banks of the new lake (from the dam) the backdrop of the lake is stunning. There is a little cafe & some shops but we didn't really look at them.

much of the old mainstreet of cromwell was flooded by the fomation of lake dunstan a hydro lake formed by the building of the clyde dam many of the old buildings were shifted and restored. these now have working artesians-artists-gift shops and cafes all open to the public. many wineries and vinyards are in the area and worth a visit
