Garh is a historical place located near the eastern end of Durgapur. Although the road leading to this destination is not good but the journey through the jungle will charm the visitors. They can experience the serenity of the forest. There is a very old temple named Shyama Rupa Temple on the bank of Ajay River.

In fact, it is the same place where Raja Surath performed Durga Puja after being instructed by Mahamuni Medhas. In the Garh jungle there is no any... More

1. Approach road in pathetic condition (last 5km). Do not even think to drive yourself. 2. Not worth visiting. Nothing to see as such. 3. Need to pay a private toll tax of Rs. 30 (car) or Rs. 50 (van/bus) for crossing a narrow bridge (in a pathetic condition) of hardly 100m. Overall, waste of money and time. Same is... More

To escape from the busy life of Durgapur, people flock to this place more so during the winter. During the long drive, you can enjoy fresh air and see some animals roaming around if you are lucky. I spotted some deers lurking around. People also say sometimes Wild elephants roam this place and there have been some incidents as well,so... More

Both Garh Jungle and Deul Park are next to each other. If you are looking for a place away from the hustle and bustle of the city, then this is your place. It is quiet and serene from journey to destination. The journey from the highway would lead you to a single lane road with few under-construction residential complex, a... More

The place is a little secluded from the main city and the drive in to the place is an absolute beauty and the build up that it creates is aptly culminated upon reaching the place. The best time to visit will be during the 8th day of the Durga Puja festival. It is also quite a popular spot during the... More
