Very interesting but needs more signage. For those less fit - lots of stairs.

Amazing to see and well worth a visit. However, there is a lack of signage and it was only after the visit I discovered there was an audio guide. I was lucky that I had the... read more

Amazing to see and well worth a visit. However, there is a lack of signage and it was only after the visit I discovered there was an audio guide. I was lucky that I had the fantastic guide Miriam from Walkabout Digger Tours who translated the limited signage which was in French. A little warning for those not as fit... More

Lovely place but very poor interpretation. The orangerie was inaccessible due to a group visit. It would have been a lot more interesting if there was more signage available to explain the rooms and the history, The garden over the road was stunning though, full of beautiful blossom.

We happened to see this on our way to the gardens. You can hike up a big tower and look over the whole city. Must see it

We were driving back to Paris from the Normandy region and this location is right on the way. It makes an excellent place to stop for a few hours. I had read the previous reviews and was not sure what to expect. The Chateau is definitely a work in progress, as much of the building needs refurbishment. But for us... More

Magnificent on the outside - not so on the inside. I'm travelling solo with my miniature Schnauzer throughout France. I'm in total disbelief that that I cannot even tie him up in the courtyard of the chateau, let alone take him on lead throughout the large orchard gardens. I've also been in England and Scotland and this request was not... More

Hands up, I'm a War enthusiast. The history part, not the fighting bit. I went to the Chateau for one reason, its connection with Erwin Rommel. Truthfully there is, apart from a bunker with nothing relevant to WW2 in it, not much to see as regards Rommel. So if your interest is purely like me its a waste of time... More

We enjoyed wandering through this chateau during September. Very quiet so plenty of time to explore each room and to slowly make our way up all the steps, through the cliff, to the keep at the top. Rewarded with stunning views once there. Real shame the rooms no longer have their paintings and furniture (sold to pay death duties), and... More

The attractiveness of the castle is the way it has been constructed, against the rocks and overlooking the river Seine. The castle garden between the castle and the river is amazingly well restored. The castle itself isequally well restored. Not much Original furnitue. Possibility to visit the from the castle the tower overlooking the rriver. Access is spectacular through the... More
