Tucked away at the side of the road on the way to utah beach sits this unheralded monument. We stopped to find out what it was about. Another example of the sacrifices that were given during operation overlord

Another memorial to D-Day, the episodes commemorated being more important than the quality of the memorial. Worth parking next to for 5 minutes or so.

Despite the fact that Denmark was occupied by the Germans, Danish seaman continued to serve with Allied ships and merchant ships. They are men who were out at sea when their country surrendered. There were over 800 who participated in the naval aspect of D-Day.

When visiting Utah Beach, you pass this small memorial which you should not just drive by. It's the only Danish memorial and a stopover ov five minutes will do. There is plenty of parking space.

A small monument to remember the Danish contribution to what happend on D-day. Because this is less well known it is worthwhile to stop along the road and give it some thought.

This memorial for the Danish seamen is a quick stop on your way to our from the Utah Beach museum. Not really spectacular, but it adds another story (that I didn't know of) to the Normandy experience.

This small memorial is located on the road to Utah Beach Museum. I suppose it is only interesting if you are Danish. Stop for a minute and take a picture.
