The abbey complex is very nice, with half timbered areas - looks quite a bit like a castle. The abbey part is mainly a big courtyard with several rooms off the walkway. Descriptions are all in German. A couple of the rooms are interesting, the rest just so-so. The church was undergoing some renovation when we were there, so all... More

A beautiful spot to examine the architecture and way of life of rural Germany. The architecture of the abbey and surrounding village has been preserved well, and the local population is friendly. Not much by way of commercial facilities - no shops, restaurants, or public restrooms that I could see. But wonderful stone architecture and opportunities for photographers abound.

Bebenhausen Abbey is a beautiful monastery a short car ride away from Tübingen. You could probably also get there easily by bike. The area is beautiful from the outside and you can enjoy it for free. The inside of the monastery is also worth a visit. It is not crowded, we actually got to explore the indoor areas all by... More

The abbey was really pretty, worth a visit. It is in Bebenhausen which is in the countryside. Information was given in English and other languages.

The abbey and monastery are impressive with signs describing the buildings and the usage in German. The sights and the village are story book like. For a great vista view, go through the village, cross the small bridge, and take the narrow road that leads up hill out of town. At the sharp bend, you have a view of the

It is a beautiful Cistercian monastery which managed to preserve its old world charm. It is a perfect place for a day trip for the whole family. The monastery is wonderfully preserved and give a glimpse of a bygone era. Easily accessible using public transport(bus) from Stuttgart. A visit to the nearby university town Tübingen can be clubbed along with... More

We came across Bebenhausen on our way home. We could see the timbered buildings from the main road and are so glad we stopped. It was very nice to stroll through the Abbey and the surrounding buildings. The artwork throughout the Abbey is simple but so impressive.

This is a must for visitors in the area. Both the monastery and the castle are worth seeing. They are well maintained so that a strong sense of local history is communicated. Architecture is impressive. The large number of antlers on display in the Schloss attests to the hunting lifestyle of former days. The Cistercian abbey imparts a strong sense... More

It is a great experience, the abbey, the former hunting domain of the kings of Wurttemberg, nice hunting toffees and also a small look in to the life of monks at that time. The only minus was the guide speaking german but it was OK as others where translating for me. If you are in the area and you have... More

It was a great experience to go there because the building is really nice and you can feel how the people felt when they lives there. The prize to get is really economic, and the church inside the Abbey is very beautiful. When I first came here I thought this little village was taken from a Film. If you are... More
