Great experience
Sep 2020 • Couples
we had a great experience. Received a lot of information about the types of wine and how they are made. The wines are very delicious. if you want to taste a different one than the one in the standard package, that's no problem.

I highley recommend to do the wine experience!

We had a wonderful experience with a guided tour in the production. Wine tasting with local cheese and salami and a superb 3 course dinner in their beautiful restaurant.

The staff was very friendly and serviceminded.

WOSRT EVER
Jun 2019 • Couples
if I could give this place a 0 I would. this would have to have been the worst 'fine dining' winery experience we have ever had. firstly, the old waitress who wears at the pink lipstick was absolutely useless and had no idea what she was doing. we sat down, she poured us a glass of their sparking, not even explaining what it was or that it was their own wine we had to ask all of the questions! then we were served disgusting stale breadsticks and bread which were clearly left overs of what other guests had no eaten. the older man who must ahem been front of house gave us our menus, not explaining or recommending any food to us, again we had to ask all of the question. we wanted the whole fish and the cod and were advised by this same man that the fish wasn't available today so has to opt for something else. order two entrees aswell as the two mains. first we were served some small dish that was place din front of us not knowing or being told what is was by this same waitress. had to call her over and ask what it was and even then she had no idea the man had to explain it was cuttlefish and lucky I asked because I am allergic!!! entrees and the cuttlefish were so bland no flavour what so ever! so was the red wine we ordered, asked her for a taste of the wine before we buy a glass and she just came back with two glasses instead, at this point we couldn't be bothered and just wanted to get out of there. then came our mains, ended up going to for spaghetti sea urchin, seafood which was non existent and I got the cod both which had no flavour, asked this same waitress for parmesan for the pasta because there was absolutely no flavour and when she came back said 'in Italy we don't use cheese on pasta' yeah well if your chefs also tasted the dishes they cooked we wouldn't need to. then I look at the table behind us to realise this same man who had helped serve us also brought out food to a local couple behind us with the whole fish!!! let me be clear, they arrived after us and he told us that he didn't have any fish today. I then asked him about it saying 'I thought you didn't have fish today as thats what we came for' and he said 'oh I only had three' yeah there was no one else in the reasuatrnaut when we ordered our food so don't lie to us. we live on a a food and wine peninsula in Melbourne and know good food, wine and service and this place is a joke. WORST. EXPERIENCE.EVER. call yourself a winery? ha yeah far from it! things to change, staff, chefs, wine selection so basically everything

Dear Mr. Bec, We already replay to you on google, but we'll do also here. We are deeply sorry that you have not had a pleasant experience with us. We regret hearing your words. We apologize if these two staff members have not been able to please you during your dinner. If it makes you feel better, I inform you that both of these two people are no longer working for our facility after that night because we didn't meet on our way to work. They had been with us for a while and we realized that we had to change and this was done. Our reality is not like you unfortunately experienced us, we try to make every experience pleasant and so we do in the vast majority of the time, as can be seen from the other reviews. So we still apologize for being stumbled upon in a service not up to par and if you ever want to return you will find that it was just an isolated episode. Good day

Beautiful Grounds, Nice Tour and Excellent Wines
Apr 2019 • Couples
We took this tour from our ship. The winery and grounds are beautiful, and there is also a resort on site, in case you want to stay in the area. Our tour began with an introduction of the history of the company, and then a visit to the cellar (see photos) where they explained the phases of the wine making process, from the harvest to the bottling. We also saw the barriques room and of the Historical Cellar. We wound up in the wine tasting area, where we tasted the company's wines and local olive oils, accompanied by salami, Tuscan cheeses and bread. We tasted the Brut Rosé, and 4 of their other wines. We ordered a case including Brut Rosé, Il Fortino, Cercatoja, Vermentino and Viognier, and 2 bottles of the olive oil. We got a notice from the shipping company that our case has been shipped, so we have no concerns about the ordering process. Can't wait for them to arrive!

Make this one of your destinations if you are in the area! Or, even better, stay at the resort - it looked beautiful!

Excellent wine tasting experience!

We recently had the opportunity to visit this winery as part of a cruise package. The tour was excellent, and the wine was perfect! We ordered a case of the shiraz, and can't wait for it to get to us!

Wonderful Wine Tasting Experience
Feb 2019 • Friends
As a group of 13 family and friends we enjoyed a superb afternoon at the Tenuta. Our guide was fantastic and we were fascinated to learn so much about wine making. Their wines are first class and during our 4 day visit to the area, we always chose the Buonamico label. As part of my daughter’s 40th birthday celebrations, our visit was made very special and gave us lovely memories we will always treasure.

Enjoyable Visit
Oct 2018 • Friends
We were hosting some family and friends at our vacation home near Lucca, and wanted to give them the opportunity to sample some local wines. Buonamico Tenuta seems to be one of the few area wineries that encourages tours as well as tastings, which may be the reason it has many more TA reviews than other area wineries. In any event, we chose the Special Tasting for 18 euro, which included a half hour tour, a tasting of 5 wines and a plate of meats, cheeses, bread and olive oil to share.
The tour was informative, led by a pleasant young woman named Rebecca, whose English was excellent. Our group was only seven, making it easy to ask questions. The wines were uniformly good; at 13-22 Euro I think they are reasonably priced for a "tourist oriented" winery (they sell mainly to area restaurants and visiting tourists)-but they can't of course compete with the value proposition for the various excellent mass produced Italian wines available in local Italian supermarkets at a fraction of the cost of what we would pay in our native Canada. Hence my leaving empty handed, although some of the less accountant like folks in our group left with samples of the local production. The snacks were fine, although I expected a bit more from the olive oil tasting; two oils that were tasty enough but our guide had no information on them other than they were Italian. We had done an oil tasting last year as part of a local cooking class, and were amazed at the variety of different tastes of the oils from various regions of Italy. Of course, olive oil tasting is not what these guys do, so it's OK that it's not a feature of the experience, but they do mention an oil tasting as part of the tour, and I don't think that this one deserves any mention as a feature of the tour, as currently presented.
Overall I thought it was a nice experience. A bit expensive in comparison to other Italian attractions, and a bit of a crowded tasting bar would be my only (minor) complaints, but generally worth your time and money.
