Approaching this beautiful little theatre the facade is unprepossing but once inside it is quite magical. This is a theatre with a long history. It has been very sensitively restored internally and must be a wonderfully intimate venue. Puccini attended this theatre in his youth. I couldn't help but feel that it would make a wonderful venue for a poetry reading or perhaps a string quartet. We didn't get to see anything on stage but even getting the chance to look inside was wonderful. It was arranged by our guide for us and I must say it was one of the hidden gems of our Tuscan visit the memories of which will stay with me for many a long day.…

This 250-year-old theater has been updated several times, the last time in the early 1970s with some nicely painted decorations. It is comfortable and cozy, seating only about 150 people. Sometimes it has free community musical performances. Even if you aren't going to an event there, it's worth taking a peek inside if you happen upon it when it is open.…
