Went to Praia de Rocha in mid-June to find a beach packed with loads of tourists. Wouldn't imagine what it's like later on in the year. Advice is to walk 500m further and enjoy the calmer beach of Très Castelos

Lovely scenic beach with caves and a cafe. The water is a little bit chilly in June ( to be expected) the sun however is ever shining. There aren't much seashells. The beach is beautiful nothing like it seen before. Worth a trip.

Simply that- amongst the best beaches I've ever swam at......yes a shade cool at first , but you'd stay in forever Grand town, decent food at reasonable prices

Fantastic, safe beaches around Praia Da Rocha, where you can hire beds and shade for €10 per couple. My only gripe (as with many public beaches) is the frequency of sellers visiting you whilst you are relaxing. Fantastic amenities, many toilets, bars, refreshments along the...More

HI there- Going to Praia da Rocha in June. Do you have to rent parasols for the beach or can you buy your own in shops and bring them with you-Any other costs that are pertinent too? Thanks

Not sure of the cost to hire the beds sorry but yes you can take your own parasols. We saw them for between 6-7 euros :)

The boardwalk is quite flat but getting to it may be problematic. I cannot remember if there was an elevator. Sorry!
