Lovely tribute

This is a lovely tribute to fallen men. The grounds are beautifully maintained and it is very peaceful. The Dutch people express their undying gratitude in a most beautiful way.

We decided to visit the Canadian cemetery in Groesbeek (on a trip to Holland) to visit my husband's mother's first husband who is buried there. We were lucky: it was a beautiful warmish sunny day when we landed in Amsterdam on Tuesday December 27, 2016. After checking into our hotel, we took a direct train from Amsterdam Centraal Station to... More

Drove through Belgium to get here. As with other Commonwealth War Graves, it was beautifully kept. Park like grounds were so respectful of those buried there. Visited the grave of a relative buried there. So moved by the site.

My wife and I stopped by the Canadian War Cemetery after spending a couple hours at the Oorlogs Museum in Overloon. It was a nice visit after experiencing the history, stories, and incredible collection of prestige military equipment at the museum. When you walk the cemetery it really leaves you speechless. The fact that it is set in a quiet... More

Beautiful place. Very nice. Lots of history. When I walked it I could feel the goosebumps going up my back knowing what they did. Very nice area to visit.

A must visit place if you're in Groesbeek, we had the honor to be present at the 70 years Operation Veritable WW2 memorial on the 8th of February. Coming up to the cemetery and the thought about all the fallen young men will makes you speechless. With a special thanks to Bert Eikelenboom who informed us about the memorial he... More

We visited the cemetery because we were visiting the National Liberation Museum. Thankfully, we have no family buried here but as Canadians we wanted to visit so our sons could see some of the sacrifices the soldiers made

It makes one sad to view so many headstones of the fallen but the site is beautifully kept and it sure made me appreciate the sacrifice made by so many.

As a Canadian born with Dutch roots, this was a moving reminder of what my ancestors had gone through and what young Canadians had sacrificed.
