Beware of strong winds, a beautiful place
Aug 2021 • Friends
Very beautiful place to stay closer to nature. There are walking paths through the dunes and those will take you to different landscapes. The wind here can be so strong and as a result it will be so cold. You don't see big trees here although it is a national park, mostly small bushes and sand dunes. But the views are amazing. Ideal for an evening walk.

The park is fantastic for a walk or to bike around. We really enjoyed the time spent biking around. A great day in the nature.

Stunning raw nature!

The Slufter was very interesting and there are so many birds there. Be sure to bring your binoculars and waterproof shoes! The unique and diverse habitats all within the same area is amazing. There is a ramp to go over the dunes or the steps which is the equivalent of three flights of steps. A restaurant is right in the parking lot too if you are in need of sustenance once you are finished exploring!

Stunning sunsets
Aug 2019
This was surely one of the most spectacular sunsets I have witnessed in a while. The sea is also really beautiful for swimming.

Beautiful park, great walks
Nov 2018 • Friends
One of the most interesting beaches is located about 10 minutes by car as soon as you get off the ferry. Here you can see how nature takes it course and the island slowly grows with the help of sea streams, wind and sand.

Some of the dunes are easy accessible through a well indicated paved walking path. Once you reach the higher point, you'll have an endless view of rugged nature, the beach and the "White church" towering above the idyllic village of Den Hoorn.
On a clear day the neighboring islands are also visible.

A paradise for both bird watching and unique plants that are native to a specific type of soil found in Texel. It is definitely worthwhile visiting.

Lovely walks
Oct 2018 • Couples
We spent a couple of days cycling and walking in the national park. We did several of the walks and found the green walk around de Muy to be very clear. The blue walks seem a little bit more confusing and we ended up doing a much longer hike than expected. We will definately buy a map before our next trip! Very beautiful and easy-going walks.

Excellent for nature loves and hikers

I've only been in the spring and fall, but the dunes are beautiful any time of the year. Great place to go for a walk. Many birds, wild horses, and even some bunkers left over from WWll. Excellent bike trails to get to the dunes from anywhere on Texel

Great for hiking!
Apr 2017 • Couples
Even on a Sunday over a long weekend, we didn't find the dunes area crowded. Other people were out that we passed every few minutes, but for the most part it was quiet and just us hiking around. Could have spent all day but we had other things we wanted to see and do on Texel. Should have planned for more time there!
