Animals all looked like they were taken care of properly. However I do think they allowed way too many people close to the animals. Some of the sheep had just given birth but were surrounded by hundreds of people. They had no place to escape from the stress. I’ve seen kids chasing animals like they are toys. I think a lot of this can be solved by simply allowing less people inside.

We loved our visit to this sheep farm. The animals were so cute and we had a lot of fun - even without children in tow. Be sure to stay for the herding demonstration, it was the highlight of our visit!

If you do have kids, you might have to factor in more time as there's an amazing play area outside as well.

Nice place to go. Friendly staff. There are sheep, chicken of every sort and ducks running around. Very interesting experience. Family-friendly and cosy. As it is a farm it is adviced that you don't wear you best dress/shoes.

Very nice shop with lots of local produce. In the back you can have a nice coffee and walk in the stables. We went begin May and there were plenty of lambs

After we arrived on Texel ,this was our first place to visit. From the first moment until the last we really love this farmyard environment and the whole concept.
Being honest, we did not expect as many kind of animals (guinea pig, rabbit, little chicken, pigs, baby cows, sheeps & lambs).
We went there without kids, but as adults we were also shocked the cuteness of these tiny, cute animals.
If you are a big fan of animals, I really recommend you to visit this farm.

If you are lucky to see the shepherd demonstration, as we were, you're going to have a great time! The presentation and explanation is fun, entertaining, educational and fascinating to watch. Very well prepared. The dogs are amazing at herding the sheep, and we got to see them being brought out and back multiple times.

Around the farm, there are lovely animals everywhere, and you can come close and touch all of them. Chickens, goats, sheep, pigs, bunnies, guinea pigs, donkeys and ponies.

Highly recommend if you love animals.

This was a disappointment, since we expected to see regular working farm, not a kind of petting zoo for small kids. A Rip off for adults given the entrance fee paid virtually for nothing. Not recommended except for families with small children

This was so much fun! My partner and I love animals and even though we were the only ones there without kids, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves- one on one with all the animals was a fantastic way to spend a morning!

There is quite a bit to see and do here.

From a (very impressive) demonstration from the sheep dogs and accompanying information from the farmer, to the large amounts of livestock on show, it had all you need to spend a couple of hours with the family.

There was a wonderful petting corner, where you were encouraged to have cuddles with the guinea pigs, chicks and lambs. Pony rides, information on the sheep and calves, a decent sized outdoor play area and a little coffee veranda and gift shop.

Well worth the entrance fee.

My kids (10 + 12) could have spent a month here. We had a joyous visit to the farm, especially to the "cuddle corner" with all the baby animals. Guinea pigs, chickens, goats, lambs, bunnies, oh my goodness, we had such an enchanting time - holding them, hugging them, admiring all the animals. Anyone with a love for small sweet creatures will take great delight in a visit to Schapenboerderij. Highly and heartily recommended.
