The only sea barrier in the world that can be closed during rough weather also known as Neeltje Jans. Went across twice first with a regular bicycle and this year with an electric bicycle (highly recommend the latter). Wonderful views cycling from the island of Schouwen Duyvenland to the Island of Noord Beeveland. Excellent restaurant and fish store mid-way worthy... More

To drive, walk or cycle over this structure during change of tides one is able to experience the force of the currents from above leading to impressive scenes. When on a sunny day or a windy one you'll find very different scenes to enjoy.

If you would only see and enjoy the Deltawerken, the entree price for an adult is quite expensive. You have special family discount tickets (2 adults + 2 children) that also give you access to the sea animals, aquarium, and other stuff that is nice for children.

The deltaworks in itself are quite impressive, but the location of this attraction is completely off according to the map!! We lost an entire hour, because we followed the map given here, but the deltaworks are actually around the Deltapark Neeltje Jans.

Impressive construction build to win the struggle against the sea. Worthwhile seeing especially on a stormy day.

We vacationed there my whole childhood and as a grown up I brought my husband and my kids there too. They loved it. The wild ponies in the dunes, pick nicking, hours of bike riding, beach walks, the seafood and The pancake mill.

If you are interested in real Dutch craftsmanship, you have to visit this place. The Deltawerken are a national treasure and a real architectural dream for engineers. The knowledge of this Dutch technology has been sold to numerous countries in the world to protect their main land of flooding.

I live near the Deltawerken in the Oosterschelde and often take guests there, even if it is just for a brief visit. It is always impressive and a visit to the museum that is part of it adds to the experience.

The Oosterscheldedam is simply a unique structure to keep out the violent seas, while letting tranquil seas pass. When I was younger this was sometimes referred to as the 8th wonder of the world. If you want to see things that are particular to the Netherlands, the Deltawerken should be on your list. Visit Deltapark Neeltje Jans if you want... More
