Beautiful place in the shadows to have rest

A clean park with benches and waterways with a ton of fishes. The best place in Urfa seems to be those gardens facing the lake.

You will not come to the city and see the fishy lake. There are many stories of fishy lake in Urfada. At the end of all Hz. The fire that Abraham threw into turns into water and becomes fish in the woods. After that day, the name of the lake becomes Halil-ür Rahman. This name comes from the meaning of... More

I always feel that I pass another dimension of life while visiting that place. You should learn and think where you are and your foot pressing on the same place with the prophet of Allah. Only one difference, prophet Abraham was walking on that place for awake people for returning their sinful life to a clean life. You should see... More

The place is generally crowded with tourists, but still a must see if you are in Urfa. The lake is full of fish, and there is a story behind the fish that you can read when you are there.

We went to Balıklı Göl early morning, it was beautiful! No entries fee. Good for photo shots and you can buy 1 lira fish food and feed the fishes. It is also nice yo walk around the near bazaar. Before the bazaar, on the right there is Abraham/İbrahim's birth place/cave, you should also visit. Take off your shoes and giving... More

Balikligol and in fact the old town of Urfa exudes an atmosphere of calmness and peace. We visited in the month of September 2016 just before the festival of Kurban Bayran. The Balikligol itself was the centrepiece of Urfa and definately worth visiting. Families would picnic around the area especially on weekends and at night it look really spectacular with... More

Nice setting, but even nicer in the evening, and much more quiet! I loved the atmosphere, and there were almost no people except us. Perfect for pictures!
