The Coromandel is just one of the many beautiful parts of New Zealand, and Cooks is just one of many beautiful beaches on the Coromandel. But it is lovely, and it is surrounded by interesting countryside. It gets very crowded at holiday times, but if youre lucky enough to be there offpeak it's so peaceful. Walk, bike, swim or just... My husband and I were lucky enough to stay here on our trip to NZ for a few days. The beach itself is beautiful and unspoilt, the whole stretch is just sand with wonderful views of the surroundings and out to sea. There are local walks nearby and a few nice places to have a drink or something to eat... More

This is such a unspoilt spot in the coromandel perfect for families with young children. The flat bay is perfect for them to splash around in, not having to worry about a big wave knocking them over. I basically grew up here and this is what I call home, returning most summers for New Years . I have met so... More

A beautiful and unspoiled beach with relatively safe swimming. Slightly marred by jet skiers off-shore but a great place for a dip in the sea. Lots of families and friends chilling and having a great afternoon. The views give the impression that nothing much has changed around here since the first explorers arrived. You are forced to relax as there's... More

Cooks Beach is gorgeous like so many of New Zealand's beaches. This beach stands out, though, because it is perfect for families. First of all, it is huge and not overly crowded. Secondly, it did not have any undertow the two days we were there. The beach is also shallow for quite a ways out. There is also a small... More

Such a beautiful part of New Zealand to holiday, so much to do, grab a kayak and see this beautiful part of our country or visit a vineyard and sample a glass, enjoy a pizza or platter. Take a walk along these beautiful beaches, enjoy the birdlife and don't forget Cathedral Cove. This is easy to get to from Whitianga... More
