Lots of information and displays in English as well as Japanese. The best place to see the Kofun (ancient tombs) from. Also good for a night time view of the city. Free.
It's free and very informative. It's a good place to see the kofun from above as it's the highest point near them. Take the lift that bring you straight up to the observatory floor. There is a cafe there if you want to sit and...More
Out standing view, I suggest to go up at night and see the lights of the city. The elevator will take you direct to the top floor from ground level, don't forget to take a look at some of the displays

A must if visiting Sakai. Gives excellent views of the city and is free. Was easy to find on city map provided by the tourist office. Nice small café in observatory to have a cup of coffee and dessert.
Gives great views of Sakai and the surrounding area. You can actually see the Tumulus and how it is really shaped like a keyhole. The staff on hand are super helpful! A must when in Sakai. Best of all it's absolutely FREE!
