We had to ring the bell and wait for a couple minutes, as everyone was upstairs. The staff were friendly, and happy to tell us about bogs and their preservation. We were even served free tea in the greenhouse, which we had all to ourselves. We just went as tourists, so we didn't get upstairs. We saw the downstairs exhibit,... More

Dropped in here as part of heritage week. Very nice and educational on all things bog. Nice museum also telling the story of bog through the ages. Also brought people on a bogwalk. Worth another visit as it's been a while since I was there.

My four children have attended the easter and summer camps here and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Dipping for frog spawn and water creatures ... catching newts and frogs ... identifying plant life ... exploring the bog ... this is a very different, educational and fun camp for kids to enjoy. Nuala is great with them and passionate about her work.

Interesting stop, really brought to life by knowledgeable and enthusiastic team. We knew very little about the bogs of Ireland and learned a lot.

This is the sort of place nature lovers like to see. Bits of history, bits of greenery. They have a little peat-free garden, a big collection of carnivorous plants, and a museum-like exhibit set up inside to show you how peat is used and how they are working to conserve this resource. It's a nice little stop on the road,... More

This attraction has so much to offer. There is a resident botanist who can answer any questions relating to the flora of the area. Bogs are almost unique to Ireland and they have a sensual beauty to them. This centre has a fab garden and polytunnel and there is so much to learn. There are displays which educate on how... More

Beautiful place to visit for children and adults alike. Plenty of children activities, a small museum, walks in the grounds and a coffee shop. Special activities for Halloween.
