Excellent value, plenty to see, and gives a good overview of the history of the site. The chapel is beautiful. Went on an overcast October day, and it felt very fitting weather for such an atmospheric place.

What a view you get from this place, it overlooks the North Sea and the River Tyne. It's worth a look at the stained glass windows. There's a free car park a 5 minute walk away from the Priory.

We were in the north east for the great North run. Decided to go over to the coast on the Saturday. The priory was a beautiful site to explore. The views from here are stunning. We even were lucky enough to go up the lighthouse.

You could walk right up to the gates and take photos and also walk part of the perimeter. There is no accommodation within the Castle or Priory grounds.
